Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill, Professor
Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill, the senior most professor of the university is working as Professor at School of Management Studies, Punjabi University Patiala. He has also worked as Head, School of Management Studies and Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala. His areas of forte range from Strategic Management to Organizational Behaviour and Marketing. Prior to joining School of Management Studies, he spent 6 years in the University School of Management at Guru Kashi Campus, Talwandi Sabo, a neighbourhood campus of Punjabi University. He was one of the pioneers in making Guru Kashi Campus a success story with his visionary and strategic approach and had initiated several academic initiatives at the campus during his tenure as an Associate Professor.
Dr. Gill received his Ph.D. in 1993 from Punjabi University, Patiala. Professor Gill’s about 30 years of working experience, includes research and consulting, which have primarily focused on Global Business Strategy, Competitive Strategy, Organizational Culture and Change Management. Besides, he has extensive experience in the areas of International Competition, Operating Systems, Ethics, Tourism Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Dr Gill has also designed MBA courses focusing on Strategic Management, Organisational Change, and Marketing Management.
He has lectured at prestigious Universities and Business Schools across India. Professor Gill’s writings and research have been widely published in books as well as in several journals of national & international repute. Dr Gill’s edited works include, amongst others, a highly acclaimed book ‘Dynamics of Tourism’ having 4 Volumes. Professor Gill is a frequent speaker and writer on Implementing Strategy, Corporate Transformation and has chaired numerous sessions in various National & International Seminars and Conferences.
Dr. Pushpinder Gill brings intense and diverse field experience in the classroom from national and international industry exposure. In the corporate world, Professor Gill’s experience includes working as Country Head, Cadbury India and Country Head, Coca Cola, Africa. He successfully delivered on his responsibilities for Planning, Formulating, and Implementing Production and Distribution strategies for the company’s products. Dr. Gill received the prestigious ‘Award of Management Excellence’ from Punjab Commerce and Management Association (Regd.) in 2015 for his contribution in the field of business and management.
